Our predecessor organization, Palmer Associates, was founded in 1990 by Pete
Palmer, with the onset of both the NAFTA Agreement in 1994, and as well
with the emergence in the early 1990s of a serious and endemic security
problem in Mexico. Pete had retired from an illustrious career with the U.S.
Department of State. And in 1997, Jon M. French, also a former State
Department officer, joined Pete as partner of Problem Solvers. Jon had been
raised in Mexico, and cumulatively has over 20 years of experience in Mexico.
And Jon recently served for five years on the Board of Directors and Chairman
of the Security Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Mexico.
